PTA SZ elects Hamid Zahoor as chairman

Karachi: Hamid A Zahoor and Aamir Majeed have been elected unopposed as Chairman and Vice Chairman of Pakistan Tanners Association, PTA (South Zone), respetively.

In the annual general body meeting the members of the association have used their right of franchise in favour of Hamid Zahoor who hails from a prominent industrialist family and a director of Zahoor Sancho.

The members of the managing committee for the term 2014-15 the AGM has elected Abrar Ahmed, Jawed Tarique, Shaikh Yousuf Shafiq, Tahir Mushtaq and Abdus Salam.

The office bearers and members of PTA have hoped that Hamid Zahoor would strive hard to resolve the chronic problems being faced by the leather sector.

The newly elected Chairman Hamid in his address to the meeting has paid rich tributes to the outgoing Chairman Fawad Jawed for his services during his tenure and assured his dedication to resolve the issues of leather sector.

Former Chairman PTA and Advisor to the Chief Minister on Industry, Gulzar Firoz also spoke o the occasion and hoped the newly elected body would do all out efforts to serve the leather industry. He on the occasion demanded of the federal government to ban export of livestock in order to save Pakistan’s leather and several allied industries.
