PTI Chief levelling baseless allegations: Pervaiz RashidSeptember 15, 2014
Islamabad: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Pervaiz Rashid has said that PTI Chief Imran Khan is levelling baseless allegations on daily basis but is unable to prove his claims in courts.
Addressing a news conference in Islamabad on Tuesday evening, he said latest is the allegation that 17 bodies of those who died during clashes with Police on the Constitution Avenue on 30th and 31st of last month have been concealed in PIMS.
The Minister said Tahirul Qadri registered an FIR yesterday in which there is mention of only three deaths. Pervaiz Rashid questioned who are the fourteen others and where are their heirs. He asked Imran Khan to release identification of the fourteen bodies in his today’s speech from the container.
The Information Minister said Imran Khan also alleges that 2013 elections were stolen and that ballot papers were printed from Urdu Bazar. He said the printer against whom allegations have been levelled has gone to the court and it is an opportunity for Imran Khan to prove his allegations.
Information Minister also regretted that on the one side Imran Khan expresses his disassociation with those who attacked the Parliament House and PTV Headquarters but on the other hand he himself leads gangsters to get those released from police custody.
Senator Pervaiz Rashid said Imran Khan welcomes bail of his workers from courts but criticized the judiciary when it fails to substantiate its claims about rigging. He questioned as to why Imran Khan concealed his London meeting with Tahirul Qadri and also his meetings with him in Pakistan.
Replying to a question, the Information Minister said the Government handled a political issue politically and avoided use of administrative tactics to expose real face of Imran Khan before people of Pakistan. He said the Government was aware of the London conspiracy but even then it respected appeals of the civil society and allowed the long march to come to Islamabad.
