Public hospitals put on high alerts in Karachi for 24 hours

KARACHI: The major public hospitals in Karachi have been puts on high alert in connection with the Local Bodies Election 2015 for 24 hours and a Central Control Room has also established in the Civic Center to monitors these healthcares.

The Health Department Government Sindh and Karachi Municipal Corporation (KMC) have put all public hospitals on high alert in Karachi and ordered heads of healthcares to make all necessary arrangements to cope with any medical emergency during local bodies’ election.

The major public hospitals including Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center, Civil Hospital Karachi, Abbasi Shaheed Hospital and other hospitals have puts on high alert which will continue till the announcement of election results to cope with any untoward situation.

The heads of public hospitals have been directed to ensure availability of doctors and medical staff and medicines in Accident & Emergency Department during local bodies’ election.

The Health Department Government Sindh has also established control room in the Civic Center to monitor the situation of public hospitals and control room remain functional round-the-clock.

Director Health Karachi Dr Zafar Ejaz said at least 20 five people were brought to differtent hospitals with minor injuries out of them 15 to Sindh Government Hospital Korangi-5 and five to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center so far.

He said public hospitals have puts on high alert across the city and medical staff will remain present in the healthcares round-the-clock to meet any untoward situation.

In-charge Accident & Emergency Department, Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC), Dr Seemin Jamali said all necessary arrangements have been made to cope with any untoward situation in emergency department.
