PWA organizes blood donors’ camp at DMC

KARACHI: Patient’s Welfare (PWA), Civil Hospital Karachi on Monday organized a blood donors’ camp at Dow Medical College from 10 AM to 2 PM, to observe the World Blood Donors Day 2015.

PWA’s Communication Officer, while talking media said the event was the third of a series of quarterly blood donation drives to promote voluntary blood donation and spread awareness in this regard.

She informed that PWA is the largest student-run non-governmental, non-political organization of Pakistan, working within the premises of Civil Hospital Karachi, exclusively run by the students of Dow Medical College. She said over two dozen blood bags were collected in the camp.

She said services offered by PWA to destitute people including medicines that are provided to patients on a daily basis, provision of screening of blood, baseline dialogistic investigation and long term treatment for patients of TB, Thalassemia, epilepsy, asthma, diabetes mellitus and hypertension.
