Qamar Zaman meets CM

Peshawar: Former Olympian and Secretary General KP Olympic association Qamar Zaman called on KP Chief Minister Pervez Khattak at CM Secretariat Peshawar and discussed with him matters relating to promotion of squash and other games in the province. PTI Provincial Secretary General Khalid Masood was also present on this occasion.

Pervez Khattak welcomed proposals of Qamar Zaman for development of sports activities and assured all out cooperation of provincial govt in this regard. He while appreciating the role of Qamar Zaman and Jan Sher Khan for giving Pakistan world repute in squash said that we are proud of them.

He said that our region has produced talent in every walk of life including sports that enlightened our country and nation in the comity of nations. He hoped that Qamar Zaman would strengthen our efforts for talent hunt in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Chief Minister assured that provincial govt would also focus attention on establishing squash courts in the 76 stadiums being constructed at Tehsil level through the province.

He said he himself remained a squash player wherein full physical and mental attention is required in this game that gave benefits to the youth in the long run. Hence he said no stone will be left unturned to promote this sport at every level.

He also welcomed proposal of Qamar Zaman for appointing coaches at provincial level like that of PCB and issued on the spot directives to the Sports Minister in this regard.

He also appreciated other recommendations of Qamar Zaman for the cause of sports and assured for making it part of the sports policy of the provincial govt.
