Peshawar: Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) Khyber Agency on Thursday demanded the government to establish sufficient registration points for those who recently displaced from Khyber Agency after the start operation ‘Khyber One’ in the tribal agency.

Addressing a news conference at press club here on Monday, Chairman of QWP for Fata, Asad Afridi Advocate said a large number of families had been migrated from Bara but they were not given the status of IDPs.

“IDPs are facing problems as FDMA failed to establish any shelter to accommodate said them,” he said.

QWP tribal leader said the tribesmen, political leaders, and relevant stakeholders were complaining that nobody was on board before the launch of such operation in Khyber Agency.

“Hundreds of people are leaving their homes but there is no facility for them and families including children and aged persons have to walk for miles to reach the safer places” he said.

Due to which, he maintained that tribesmen, particularly children, women and aged, are facing immense difficulties during their migration from the agency.

Mr Afridi demanded of the government to establish registration points for new IDPs at various points and displaced persons should be given IDPs status.
