Rangers detain alleged target killer for 90 days

KARACHI: Pakistan Rangers, Sindh on Wednesday detained the alleged target killer, Afsar Hussain, for 90 days after informing Anti-Terrorism Court about his preventive detention for questioning.

The Rangers along with its counsel produced the suspect before administrative judge of ATC amid tight security.

The paramilitary force told the judge that they have credible information about suspects’ involvement in target killing, extortion and offences came within the ambit of Anti-Terrorism Act.

According to Rangers, the suspect was arrested during targeted operations in the city.

The Rangers will keep the suspect for the period of 90 days considering legal provision 11 EEEEE (1) of Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997. The production of the suspect along with other documents was made in compliance with 11 EEEEE (3) of ATA for the information and record of the court.
