Rangers kill two Lyari Gangwar men in encounter

KARACHI: Two terrorists of Lyari Gangwar were killed during an intelligence driven raid conducted by Pakistan Rangers, Sindh in Tharu Lane, Lyari, on Wednesday.

According to Rangers spokesperson, the terrorists identified as Younas alias Obama, and Muhammad Farooq alias Farooqa were affiliated with Lyari gangwar, Uzair Baloch Group.

“When the paramilitary force reached the Tharu Lane to arrest the culprits, they started firing at the personnel in a bit to escape. The Rangers retaliated and Lyari gangsters were killed in a heavy exchange of firing from both sides. A Rangers soldier also received minor injuries during the course of action and was immediately rushed to hospital,” the spokesperson added.

The terrorists were involved in multiple targeted killings, extortion and firing and grenade attacks on policemen. The paramilitary force had recovered ammunition from the possession of the gangsters.

The bodies were shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi for medico-legal formalities.
