Rangers, police, ASF put on notice in missing person’s case

KARACHI: Sindh High Court (SHC) on Monday issued notices to Director General Rangers Sindh, Inspector General Sindh, director Airport Security Force (ASF) and other officials to submit their comment on a petition seeking whereabouts of a man who went missing from Karachi airport.

SHC bench headed by Justice Sajjad Ali Shah was seized with the hearing of petition filed by Wajeeha who moved the court against law enforcers for detaining her husband, Mirza Saud Ali Baig.

The petitioner stated that her husband, Mirza Saud Ali Baig was serving as an architect in Arex Consultants, Dubai. But on 31st August 2015, he was deported to Karachi along with his family and reached at Karachi airport Karachi on 1st September.

She stated that “Just when they reached immigration counter some person wearing civil dresses detained my husband without disclosing a reason of arrest”.

Citing DG Rangers Sindh, IGP Sindh, regional director of Civil Aviation Authority, director ASF, SHO Airport police station as respondents, she prayed the court to direct the respondents to produce her husband before the court.

After the initial hearing, the court issued notices to Attorney General and respondents to file their comments on 1st October.
