NAUNDERO: Electricity loadshedding schedule has once again been enforced for third time in July here on Wednesday under which the residents have been divided into two sections.

The privileged people have been put on city feeder-1 and the under-privileged poor citizens have been given power supply from city feeder-2 due to which the residents have started thinking that they are being discriminated.

According to new schedule, 12-hour loadshedding will be carried out with effect from today on city feeder-1 and 14-hour on city feeder-2. The condition of power supply from feeder-2 could be judged from this fact that it has been disconnected since 2.00 am from Wednesday night and it was not restored till filing of this report at 2.00 pm.

The consumers of this feeder have already undergone 18-hour prolonged power loadshedding due to monsoon rain on Monday, but they have been ignored instead of showing mercy by SEPCO authorities. The citizens of feeder-2 are constantly demanding of putting entire town on single feeder minus all surrounding villages to ensure proper payments and supply, but their demand has always fallen on deaf and dumb ears of SEPCO operation division authorities, resulting increase in their sufferings.

The servants of former federal government pressurized the SEPCO authorities to divide the town in two feeders and they did it without realizing their legal obligations and consequences due to which SEPCO recoveries have gone down.

The protest and hunger strike for one-day was announced by Shehri Action Committee leaders three days earlier against worst power outages, which has now been postponed owing to heavy rains and new date will be announced within next few days. Leaders Ghulam Hyder Narejo, Manzoor Mangi, and Javed Bhutto demanded of the federal government to treat all citizens of the country equally as enshrined in the Constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
