River inflows and outflows at Tarbela, Mangla and Chashma

KARACHI: The position of the river inflows and outflows at Tarbela, Mangla and Chashma along with the reservoirs levels and the barrages today is as under:

Rivers: Indus at Tarbela-Inflows 23,400 cusecs and Outflows 52,000 cusecs, Kabul at Nowshera: Inflows 10,700 cusecs and Outflows 10,700 cusecs, Jhelum at Mangla- Inflows 12,000 cusecs and Outflows 50,000 cusecs, Chenab at Marala- Inflows 8,100 cusecs and Outflows 4,000 cusecs.

Barrages: Jinnah-Inflows 62,100 cusecs and Outflows 54,600 cusecs, Chashma -Inflows 56,100 cusecs and Outflows 50,000 cusecs, Taunsa- Inflows 53,700 cusecs and Outflows 42,300 cusecs, Panjnad- Inflows 15,200 cusecs and Outflows 3,900 cusecs, Guddu- Inflows 42,800 cusecs and Outflows 35,800 cusecs, Sukkur- Inflows 36,100 cusecs and Outflows 6,400 cusecs, Kotri- Inflows 6,690 cusecs and Outflows Nil cusecs.

Reservoirs’ Level and Storage: Tarbela – dead level 1380 feet, present level 1492.07 feet, maximum level 1550 feet, live storage 3.431 million acre feet (MAF), Mangla – dead level 1040 feet, present level 1206.85 feet, maximum level 1242 feet, live storage 4.813 MAF, Chashma – dead level 637 feet, present level 645.10 feet, maximum level 649 feet, live storage 0.143 MAF.

The inflows and outflows of River Indus at Tarbela and Chashma, River Kabul at Nowshera and River Jhelum at Mangla have been reflected as mean flows of 24 hours, whereas the other flows have been gauged at 6.00 a.m.
