Rivers, reservoirs flow position

KARACHI: The position of the river inflows and outflows at Tarbela, Mangla and Chashma along with the reservoirs levels and the barrages today is as under:

Rivers: Indus at Tarbela-Inflows 61,200 cusecs and Outflows 80,000 cusecs, Kabul at Nowshera: Inflows 15,500 cusecs and Outflows 15,500 cusecs, Jhelum at Mangla- Inflows 32,700 cusecs and Outflows 45,000 cusecs, Chenab at Marala- Inflows 24,500 cusecs and Outflows 7,000 cusecs.

Barrages: Jinnah-Inflows 94,900 cusecs and Outflows 86,600 cusecs, Chashma -Inflows 100,100 cusecs and Outflows 100,000 cusecs, Taunsa- Inflows 91,600 cusecs and Outflows 76,400 cusecs, Panjnad- Inflows 38,300 cusecs and Outflows 22,700 Guddu- Inflows 92,600 cusecs and

Outflows 69,300 cusecs, Sukkur- Inflows 69,000 cusecs and Outflows 18,500 cusecs, Kotri- Inflows 45,150 cusecs and Outflows 10,675 cusecs.

Reservoirs’ Level and Storage: Tarbela – dead level 1380 feet, present level 1547.82 feet, maximum level 1550 feet, live storage 6.325 million acre feet (MAF), Mangla- dead level 1040 feet, present level 1241.50 feet, maximum level 1242 feet, live storage 7.351 MAF, Chashma – dead level 637 feet, present level 645.80 feet, maximum level 649 feet, live storage 0.162 MAF.

The inflows and outflows of River Indus at Tarbela and Chashma, River Kabul at Nowshera and River Jhelum at Mangla have been reflected as mean flows of 24 hours, whereas the other flows have been gauged at 6.00 am.
