Rs. 1.64 billion allocated for 44 development schemes

SIALKOT: Punjab government has allocated a special grant of Rs. 1.64 billion for ensuring the timely completion of as many as 44 development schemes of drainage, sewerage and streets construction and improvement in Gujranwala Division’s all the six Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, Mandi Bahaud Din, Hafizabad and Gujranwala districts.

Commissioner Gujranwala Division Shamail Ahmed Khawaja disclosed this while talking to the newsmen here.

He said that Rs. 618 million would be spent on such 17 development schemes in Sialkot district, Rs.141 million on four schemes in Gujranwala district, Rs. 119.5 million on eight schemes in Hafizabad district, Rs.559.6 million on nine schemes in Mandi Bahaud Din district, Rs. 157.4 million on 15 such schemes in Narowal district and Rs. 48 million would be spent on a single big scheme in Gujrat district as well.

Commissioner added that the construction work on these development schemes had also been started to ensure the timely completion of these schemes.
