Rs. 170mn released for construction of dyke along banks of river Tavi

SIALKOT: Punjab government has released a special grant of Rs. 170 million for establishing a protecting dyke along the banks of Rive Tavi near Bajwat to save the Bajwat villages from the erosion caused due to faster flow of waters in Rivers Chenab and Tavi here.

Local MNA Ch. Armughan Subhani disclosed this while talking to the affected people during his visit to the erosion hit Bajwat villages Khanu Bhau, Papeen, Kaliyaal and Gangwal here Monday.

He assured that the construction work would be started within next couple of days.
