Karachi: Governor Sindh Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan has said that increasing pollution by release of drainage water into the sea is a major problem and to resolve this issue S-lll project was formed. That project is inevitable for Karachi.

During a briefing on S-lll project, he said the delay in this project has already increased its cost and now it is necessary to complete it quickly without any further delay. Federal, provincial government and Karachi Port Trust should play their respective roles for its early completion, he added.

It was told to the briefing that PC-l of the project was approved on 19th September 2007 and its estimated cost was Rs7912 million, which was to be paid by the federal and provincial governments equally under a cost sharing formula. Later, the estimated cost was revised and Lyari River Basin was also included in the project.
