Safoora bus carnage suspects sent to jail

KARACHI: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Thursday sent three suspects to jail on judicial remand till 27 July for their alleged involvement in Safoora bus carnage case.

Police produced the accused Tahir Hussain, Saad Aziz and Asad-ur-Rehman before the ATC judge amid high security. The court sent all the accused to jail judicial remand till 27 July.

Earlier on 15 July, two more witnesses identified three suspects during an identification parade before a judicial magistrate, Malir. Now all three suspects had been identified by seven witnesses as they had already been identified by five witnesses on 10 July.

According to the prosecution, Saad and Tahir were arrested from Gulshan-e-Maymar by Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) after an encounter on 20 May 2015.

At least 45 people belonging to Ismaili community were killed and others injured when unknown assailants targeted their bus near Safoora Goth on 13th May 2015.
