SC seeks proposals from protesting parties to resolve political crisisAugust 31, 2014
Islamabad: The Supreme Court has sought proposals from the protesting parties to resolve the political crisis. Hearing the case of any possible extra-constitutional steps, Justice Saqib Nisar inquired from legal counsels of both PTI and PAT about any possible role that the apex court could play to resolve the issue.
Earlier, the Attorney General told the court that the protesting parties were allowed to stage sit-in in Islamabad on assurances that neither will they enter the red zone, nor will damage the property or enter the buildings.
Copy of PTI and PAT applications and issued No Objection Certificates allowing them to organize sit-in in Islamabad have also been submitted before the apex court.
