Second edition of the PPC Inter-Media Cricket Tournament under ways simultaneously

Peshawar: The second edition of the Peshawar Press Club Inter-Media Cricket Tournament got under way simultaneously here at Maazullah Khan Cricket Academy and BISE Grounds on Monday.

Senior Minister Sharam Khan Tarakhai and Senior Journalist Rahimullah Yousazai formally inaugurated the month long event that carrying a total of 32 teams comprising Geo TV, ARY News, Dunia TV, Dawn News, APP, Express News, 92 HD News, Daily Suba, Waqat News, Sports Writers Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Journalist XI, Channel 24 News, Daily Aaaj, Nai Baath, Daily Jang, Sama News, BBC News, Daily Khyber, Khyber News, Daily Aeen, Aaj News, Daily Express, The News, Daily Mashriq, Neo TV, Abb Tak News, Photo Journalist Tigers. Daily The Frontier Post will defend its title.

Senior Journalist Rahimullah Yousafzai termed it a good and healthy sign for the journalists, working day and night in stressful environment.

He said such sort of activities should be a continuous process so as to provide ample opportunities for the journalist to spare some time for their precious life. The journalists, he said, are going through very hard time advising them to keep care of their health.

Senior Minister Shahram Khan Tarakhai lauded efforts of the journalists behind organizing and involving media men in healthy sports activities. He termed it very healthy sign saying healthy mind resides in healthy body.

The journalists, he said, should actively participate by sparing some time for their own health. He said organizing healthy sports activities is part of the PTI manifesto that is why the government is giving due importance to youth by facilitating them with playing fields. He said more than 58 grounds in the process of completions and soon these playing fields would be available for the youth to keep on their healthy activities.

The youth, he said, are the future builders of the nation so it the government’s top priorities to provide all out facilities in the field of education, good health and above all sports activities at schools, colleges and higher education levels so as to involve them in position activities.

General Secretary Press Club Fida Adeel, Ex-President Nasir Hussain, President Syed Bokhar Shah Bacha, Chairman ICMS Malik Tajamal Hayat and Organizing Secretary Naeem Ahmad spoke on this occasion.

Earlier, Shahram Khan Tarakhai and Rahimullah Yousafzai formally inaugurated the tournament by hitting the balls in Maazullah Khan Cricket Academy.
