Peshawar: Syed Azhar Ali Shah Secretary General Pakistan Cycling Federation (PCF) rejects the results shown by the organizers of Tour de Punjab Cycle Race.

The organizers claim that Multan to Bhaulpur race was completed in 115 km in 2h.36min is just a joke similarly the organizers claim that Afghan national team is participating in the race is also a false claim as the Afghan cyclists who are participating in the race are not cyclists of Afghan national team but Sayara Cycling Club of Kabul as informed by Mr. Abdul Sadiq Sadeqi President of Afghanistan Cycling Federation in his e.mail to PCF. (copy of e.mail is attached) and they participated as private club.

Mr. Shah stated that not a single license holder cyclist of Pakistan is participating in the race nor the recognized technical staff is engaged in the supervision of the race that’s why the race is good example of mismanagement.

The chief judge of the race is an illiterate person who doesn’t know the a.b c of the technical side. Mr. Shah stated that as cyclists of recognized teams of Pakistan i.e Pak Army, WAPDA, SSGC and Four Provinces are not participating in the race that’s why the Afghani cyclists have got first three positions in the race.

He stated that PCF cyclists have far better in training, and performance than afghan cyclists who are participating in the race. He stated that the race did not serve the purpose of promotion of cycling in Pakistan but a part of struggle for self-projection of Mr. Idris Haider Khawaja, the race only earned bad name for Pakistan in the world of sports as the results shows that the standard of cycling in Pakistan is very low as the fake Pakistani cyclists can’t compete with the afghani cyclists. Mr. Shah stated that Mr. Idris Hider Khawaja not bothered that what is happening due to his fake race.
