Secretary health meets with paramedics

Karachi: Secretary Health Sindh Iqbal Hussain Durrani on Wednesday said paramedical staff has important role in health department and their genuine demands would be implemented soon.

He expressed these views while talking to a delegation of Paramedical Joint Action Committee Sindh at his office here at Sindh Secretariat.

The delegation comprises the representatives of various paramedical organization led by Ikhlaq Ahmed Khan, Ameer Hussain Shah, Suleman Memon, Liaquat Mastoi, Yousuf Khan and Murad Baloch.

Iqbal Durrani assured the delegation that health allowance and death quota issues would be solved and implemented soon in letter and spirit and notification would be issued soon in this regard. He said service structure notification could not be issued yet due to inclusion of washer-men, sweepers and other categories in paramedics who acutely do not belong to paramedical staff category. He said discussion on high-risk allowance is under way and hoped that the issue would be resolved soon.

The representative of delegation demanded of the secretary health and chief minister Sindh to take practical steps for resolving the genuine demands of paramedics like service structure, health allowance, high-risk allowance in order to end the uncertainty prevailed among paramedical staff in Sindh province.
