ISLAMABAD: Senator Saleem Mandviwalla, Chairman Standing Committee on Finance, Revenue and Privatization has said that Pakistani people know very clearly the strategic significance of China- Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) for both countries.
He said Pakistan welcomed with open arms for China’s investment. President Xi Jinping has rolled out great vision for people from China and Pakistan, and now the key points lie in action and implementation and to achieve the vision, he added.
He was addressing a seminar themed “One Belt and One Road” on CPEC – China and Pakistan International Entrepreneurs in Beijing Tsinghua Unisplendour International Centre China, says a press release received from Beijing here on Thursday.
It was co-sponsored by RDI international think tank project of the Chinese Academy of Social, Tsinghua University Real Estate Presidential Chamber of Commerce, Pakistan China Institute, International Green Economy Association and other agencies.
Saleem Mandviwalla introduced in the RDI international think-tank platform, the joint efforts of think tank from both countries, entrepreneurs and relevant all walks of life have carried out a series of joint cooperation this year in Haikou, Karamay, Beijing and other places.
Mandviwalla said that the on August 11-12 this year, Pakistan economic corridor Karamay Forum (2015), initiated by RDI international think tank project was a good practice. Its theme is “Joint Negotiation of China-Pakistan Cooperation, Joint Building of a Prosperous Corridor and Sharing of Harmonious Development”.
He said that in the forum, China and Pakistan signed 20 cooperation memorandums worth a total of 10.35 billion Yuan, and adopted the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor “Karamay Declaration”, attracting international attention.
He said that “The China-Pakistan Entrepreneurs Seminar is one of the important outcomes to implement, bridge a direct communication platform between enterprises of both sides to promote substantive project connection, also it prepares for the Karamay Forum (2016). This series of actions is a true portrayal of joint negotiation, joint building and shared relationships between two countries”.
Mandviwalla said that “it hopes to help enterprises coordinate and solve the difficulties and problems emerged in “One Belt and One Road” so as to further stimulate the market element dynamic and more effectively give play to the fundamental role of the market”.
The seminar attracted more than one hundred business representatives from China, Pakistan, UAE and Kazakhstan, covering areas of new energy, electricity, law, finance, consulting, information technology, iron and steel, building materials, construction, household appliances, chemical industry, environmental protection, tourism and real estate.
