Senior journalist Sajid Aziz rejoins KUJ

Karachi : Senior journalist Sajid Aziz, former Secretary of KUJ (Dastoor) with more than his 50 colleagues, rejoined his parent organisation, the Karachi Union of Journalists.

He expressed confidence in Pakistan Federal Union of Jouranlists leadership, headed by Rana Azeem and Amin Yousuf, and Karahi Union of Journaliss, leadership headed by G M Jamali and Wajid Raza Isfahani.

Welcoming Mr Aziz and other friends in the fold of KUJ, G M Jamali expressed the hope that the friends joining the KUJ would work for the welfare of journalists from their parent organisation.

Speaking on the occasion, PFUJ Secretary General Amin Yusuf made it clear that the news of merger with any faction were mere rumors.

“There can be no compromise with any faction unless election results are accepted by those forming their own faction.”

He said that he would welcome Mr Aziz in the KUJ, and was hopeful that he would utilise his services for the welfare of journalists community.

Green Panel’s group leader Tahir Najmi welcomed Mr Sajid Aziz, and recalled that when PFUJ was waging struggle for freedom of expression and against the Martial Law in 1978, some people had supported the government and damaged the cause of journalists.

Earlier, Mr Aziz and his friends were welcomed at the KUJ offices and garlanded.

Former KUJ secretary Hasan Abbas, KUJ Secretary Wajid Raza Isfahani and KUJ vice president Rafiq Bashir, Zaheer Ahmed Khan, joint secretary Shahid Ghazali, KUJ member executive committee Mohammad Rizwan and Lubna Jerar welcomed Mr Sajid Aziz and friends in the fold of KUJ.
