Setting up Rain Emergency Centers orderedJuly 14, 2015
KARACHI: Provincial Health Department Karachi has prepared a contingency plan regarding the expected monsoon rains and an emergency control centre establish at Civic Centre.
Executive District Officer(EDO) Health Karachi Dr Zafar Ejaz said the contingency plan has been devised in connection of monsoon rains and an emergency control centre is set up in the Civic Centre to provide relief to general public in emergency situation. He said contingency plan has been made on the directives of Provincial Secretary Health Saeed Ahmed Mangnejo.
He said alerts have been also issued to all Town Health Officers (THOs) of Karachi city directing them to start preparations about expected monsoon rains and also implement the contingency plan in their respective towns.
He said all Town Health Officers have been directed to establish rain emergency centres in their respective areas as first aid treatment facilities can be provided to citizens in nearby hospitals in case of emergency before shifting them to any teaching healthcare.
He said spread of various diseases, accidents and other incidents are generally faced in rainy season; therefore, all necessary arrangements have been made before start of monsoon rains in the city.
