Seven killed in rain-related mishaps

KARACHI: Seven people, including a woman and child, were killed in separate incidents after the first spell of monsoon rains hit the city early Saturday morning.

Two men, Mohsin, 30, son of Abrar Hussain, and Tauqir, 35, son of Ather, were electrocuted after rain in Sector 15A, Buffer Zone. The bodies were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities.

Separately, a man, aged 35, was electrocuted at his house in Ram Swami area. The body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi for an autopsy.

A child, Afzal, 4, was killed when roof of his house collapsed in Naval Colony, Baldia Town. The body was taken to Civil Hospital Karachi for a postmortem examination.

In another incident, a man, Zareen Khan, 50, son of Dost Muhammad, was killed when roof of his house collapsed near a garments factory in Orangi Town. The body was taken to ASH for medico-legal formalities.

In a separate incident, a man, Gohar, 20, and a woman, Sana, 30 were killed when roof of their house collapsed in Gulshan-e-Mazdoor, Baldia Town. The bodies were shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for autopsy.
