Seven post office officials dismissed in Rs 6 million financial scam)November 29, 2014
SIALKOT: Post Master General Central Punjab Rubina Tayyub has dismissed from service as many as seven senior officials of Pakistan Post of Sialkot district on the charges of Rs 06 million embezzlement and fraud in local post offices.
The dismissed officials are: Saeed Ahmed Shehzad (senior post master at Daska Head Post Office), cash clerk Nadeem and Naib Qasid Rasheed Ahmed, Mukhtar Ali (postmaster Uggoki post office), Pervaiz Khokhar (Assistant Chief Post Master Pension Branch Sialkot GPO), Mohammad Imran (former post master Dhaarowal Post Office), Tariq Qamar (first payment clerk) and Mohammad Riaz (Assistant Chief Post Master Pension Branch Sialkot GPO).
They were found guilty in embezzlement and fraud of Rs 06 million during a high level departmental probe against them. The probe revealed that the accused had embezzled the pensions of the retired Pak Army personnel by making the fake pension books in their names and the utility bills of the general public as well.
