Seven TTP men remanded to police custody

KARACHI: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Wednesday remanded seven Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) men to police custody till 2 April 2015 in illegal weapons and explosive substance material cases.

Police produced Syed Iftikhar Hussain, Nafees Ahmed, Waris Khan, Waseem Ahmed, Mohammad Farooq, Zahid and Salar Iftikhar before the ATC judge amid tight security.

The investigation officer requested the court to allow physical remand of all the accused as they were required for investigation. The court accepted police request and remanded all the accused to their custody till 2 April.

The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) arrested all the accused in an operation on 24 March in Shah Latif town. CTD claimed to have recovered seven hand grenades, two rifles, five pistols and bullets from the arrested suspects.
