Sharjeel lashes out at Imran for using non-political languageOctober 14, 2014
Karachi: PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will make history on October 18 by addressing a mammoth public meeting at Mazar-i-Quaid. This was stated by PPP Deputy Secretary Information and Provincial Minister for Information and Local Bodies Sharjeel Inam Memon while addressing a press conference at Bagh-i-Jinnah just after reviewing the arrangements of the rally here on Wednesday.
He said that PPP Chief Bilawal Bhutto would talk about carnage of Karsaz happened on October 18, 2007 when hundreds of thousands of people had gathered to receive Mohterma Benazir Bhutto. “The enemies of humanity and democracy could not see such a mammoth gathering of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto and attempted to kill her by detonating explodes but Almighty Allah saved her but our over 150 workers and supporters lost their lives,” he recalled.
Sharjeel said finally Mohterma Benazir Bhutto embraced martyrdom in Rawalpindi for the sake of democracy and people of Pakistan. “PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto wants to start his political career right from the anniversary of Karsaz tragedy so that the agony of the incident always remain the symbol of his struggle,” he elaborated.
He also said holding of public meeting at Mazar-i-Quaid was to make a commitment with the father of nation to extricate the country from extremists and rebuild the national unity as per guidelines of Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah.
Talking about Imran Khan, Memon said he was promoting the culture using filthy language against the politicians and now he had also started targeting poor people by comparing them with `goats and sheep’. “I am telling you very clearly that you have no license to use abusive and insulting language against people,” he said and added that “We respect you as a political leader and you must reciprocate,” he said.
Talking about security arrangements during the public meeting at Mazar-i-Quaid, Memon said: “It has been beefed up and would be foolproof. Some vested interest who cannot see such a historical rally are spreading baseless rumors of security threats, he said and added: “We are the followers of those who defied death, these threats cannot coward us.”
The minister said that Bagh-i-Jinnah had the capacity of accommodating hundreds of thousands of people. However, all the necessary arrangements to facilitate the public are being made, he assured.
Brushing aside the impression of using government machinery for the rally, Memon said: “It is not our culture to direct patwaris and government officials to attend the rally. It is a purely party programme and workers are coming to honour their leader. This is a unique relationship between the party leaders and its workers,” he said.
On the occasion, PPP KPK president Khanzada Khan said that a large number of pashtoons from KPK, Karachi and Quetta would attend the rally.
PPP leader Najmi Alam briefing the media about the rally, said that the party workers were so enthusiastic to attend the rally and make a historic event took out 27 rallies from different parts of the city last Sunday.
