KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Monday issued notice to National Commission for Human Development (NCHD) chairman on petition of NCHD employees seeking regularization of their jobs.

NCHD teachers have approached the court, requesting it to order relevant authorities for regularization of their services.

The petitioners – Khuda Bux, Rabnawaz and others – submitted that NCHD has employed over 1000 staff and about 5000 feeder teachers who had been imparting education in 23 districts of Sindh province under the program since long.

They submitted that former federal minister Syed Khursheed Shah had directed authorities to increase the salaries of teachers from Rs2500 to Rs8000 per month and it was also decided that services of 3126 employees were to be regularized. ‘But the decision was never implemented’.

The petitioners said that federal authorities instead of regularizing their services has been forcing them to sign new contracts of employment, which were valid for six months only with Rs5000 salary per month.

They said that they were thrown into disarray as they didn’t know about future of their services. They requested the court to order authorities to regularize their services.
