KARACHI: The Sindh High Court on Tuesday directed the federal law officer to obtain information from Military Intelligence about a citizen who has been missing since May 26 last year.

A division bench headed by Justice Sadiq Hussain Bhatti instructed the law officer to submit the report in court by July 10.

The bench had taken up a petition filed by Advocate MK Shikoh seeking whereabouts of his son Adnan Shikoh. The petitioner submitted that his son, an employee of a pharmaceutical company, was picked up by the law enforcement agencies from the Drigh Road Railway Station when he along with his family arrived at the station and since then his whereabouts were unknown.

Petitioner, Mohammad Shamim Khan, the father of a detainee submitted that his son, Mohammad Rizwan Khan alias Shani was picked up by the Rangers personnel from outside his house in Jamshed Quarters and till date his whereabouts were not disclosed.

He complained to the judges that his son was kept in illegal detention by the law enforcers as neither did they produce him in any court of law nor disclose his whereabouts. He requested the court to order the law enforcers to produce his son in court.
