SHC seeks response of edu officials on petition for denationalizing missionary school

KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Friday directed the education secretary and director education Karachi to respond to a petition seeking denationalization of a missionary school.

Headed by Justice Syed Hasan Azhar Rizvi, was hearing a petition filed by the Church’s priest Rev. Lazarus Inayat, who submitted that the school run by the ARP Mission Church was nationalized in 1970s.

In 1983, the then President ordered denationalization of all the educational institutions in the country, but the school is still under government control, he added.

He said that several requests had been made to government, but no heed was paid to their request. Therefore, he requested the court to order the provincial education authorities to denationalize the school.
