Shujra assures to overcome medicine shortage in hospitals

KARACHI: Coordinator to Chief Minister Sindh, Hajji Muzaffar Ali Shujra on Wednesday said shortage of medicines and staff in public hospitals would be overcome soon.

He said while talking to media during his visit to the National Institute of Child Health (NICH) and the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC).

Shujra visited different wards of NICH and inquired about the problems being faced by patients, staff and doctors. He said aim of visit to the hospital was to get information about problems faced by hospital administration in running the healthcare affairs and also to bring improvement in health delivery system.

He said hospital administration must inform its requirement to provincial government as it would ensure timely provision of needs of healthcares. He said the provincial government would resolve all genuine demands of public hospitals on priority basis.

He warned the politically backed employees of public hospitals to perform their duties honestly, otherwise strict action would be taken against them. He said shortage of staff and medicines would be overcome soon.

Executive Director, National Institute of Child Health (NICH), Prof Jamal Raza, senior doctors and paramedical staff were also present on this occasion. Later, Coordinator to Chief Minister Sindh Hajji Muzaffar Ali Shujra also paid visit to JPMC.
