Sialkot airport is not managed by CAA

KARACHI: Sialkot International Airport is managed by private sector and not by Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority.

Reference is made to a news item published in a section of Press on 6th August, 2014 regarding Javed Hashmi’s plane denied landing at Sialkot International Airport, says a statement of CAA Pakistan.

In the same news item, it is alleged that Civil Aviation Authority and officials concerned did not allow landing of chartered plane at SIAL and was diverted / sent back to Islamabad.

It is clarified that Sialkot International Airport is being managed by private sector and not by Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority. Therefore, the decision of allowing the said plane to land or not to land has no concern with CAA, the statement said.
