Sindh governor inaugurates two family parks

KARACHI: Governor Sindh Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan today took a whirlwind visit of various Parks and development projects IN Karachi. During his visit, Governor Sindh went to the people gathered there and enquired about their problems and directed concerned officers to resolve the same on urgent basis.

The residents expressed their utmost joy on seeing Governor Sindh among them and informed him about the issues being confronted by them. Ebad while expressing his dismay over presence of sewerage at the service road outside the newly constructed park in North Nazimabad, directed DMC central authorities to immediately remove it and repair the faulty lines to ensure cleanliness.

Governor Sindh also inaugurated Family Parks at Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Block 15 and North Nazimabad, Block M, where he said that with the construction of those parks, the locals had been provided with a refreshing and relaxing spot.

He also visited under-construction Nazimabad underpass and directed officials to accelerate the pace of work. The debris excavated from the site should also be removed simultaneously so as to facilitate the commuters, he directed

Ebad said the development process is closely linked with prevailing law and order situation and after restoration of law and order in Karachi, special focus is now being laid on speeding up of the development activities in our megapolis.

Negligence and non-provision of funds are the main causes of dilapidated state of parks, he observed. During his visit to Aziz Bhatti Park, Governor Sindh opined: “It is an important park of Karachi which needs immediate and urgent restoration and revival. A comprehensive plan has been chalked out in this regard under public private partnership which would improve the park.”

He said that the lake present in the park would be improved, while train and cycle tracks would also be laid here. Beside establishment of a mini zoo, the existing parking lot would be converted into a cricket playing area to facilities the youth as it is being utilised for this very purpose already, he added

Governor Sindh said that to inform our new generation about the contributions of Major Aziz Bhatti Shaheed the inner wall of the park would be inscribed with salient features of his remarkable life. Governor Sindh also visited Jheel park and witnessed implementation of his directives of last visit. He also directed for cleaning of the pond of the park and filling it with clear water.

He stressed the need for involvement of locals in the managements of parks so as to improve them further. Installation of benches and lights should be given priority, he further directed.

Principal Secretary to Governor Sindh Mohammad Hussain Syed, Commissioner Karachi Syed Asif Hyderabad Shah and Municipal Commissioner KMC Samiuddin Siddiqui also accompanied him on the occasion.
