Sindh govt committed to help drought affectees: minister

KARACHI: Provincial Minister for Jails and Anti-Corruption Manzoor Hussain Wasan on Monday said that Sindh government is committed to help drought affected people of Thar and would take all possible measures for making betterment in their lives.

Talking to media ahead of Sindh Assembly session, Wasan said that according to directions of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari, he visited Tharparkar on Saturday and reviewed relief measures.

He informed that he met local representatives, journalists and heads of local departments, and collected information about relief work.

The minister said,” I am preparing report of my visit to Thar which will be presented to Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Asif Ali Zardari.” Wasan said he observed that animals evacuation from Thar could be prevented by providing fodder.

Wasan said that he directed for activating Mobile Health Units during his Surprise Visit to District Health Office. Mobile Health Units were closed due to non-availability of diesel and wheels.

He directed officials to send mobile health units to Nangar Parkar and Chhachhro so as to facilitate poor people.
