Karachi: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Tuesday has announced formation of two Bid Committees, for Media Rights and Pakistan Super League (PSL). Following last year’s bid process in awarding media rights, the PCB has initiated another bid process, inviting potential bidders for the upcoming Pakistan vs. Australia and Pakistan vs. New Zealand series from October to December 2014, to be hosted by PCB in UAE.

The Bid Committee for Media Rights will be headed by former ICC President Ehsan Mani and its members will include amongst others former Federal Finance Minister Salman Shah. Mani had also conducted the media rights bid process for PCB on multiple occasions in the past.

Last year, the PCB’s plans to organize PSL had to be shelved due to various reasons. This year the PCB has, after a thorough review of the modalities, decided to adopt the outright sale model and in this regard an advertisement in local and international newspapers has been published inviting parties to acquire the bids for the PSL rights which is tentatively scheduled in December 2014 and January 2015.

The Bids Committee formed for PSL rights is headed by former PCB Chief Executive and cricket commentator Chishty Mujahid and will include among others Salman Shah.
