Karachi: The season-opening event of Pakistan’s domestic cricket this year, the Haier Cup National Regional Twenty-20 2014-15 has been relocated from Multan to Karachi following a spell of torrential rains and flooding in northern, central and southern Punjab.

Instead of September 15, as it had initially been scheduled, the Haier Cup will now commence on September 17.

Apart from rains and subsequent flooding, the Police and District Administration had informed the PCB that owing to their engagement in flood relief duties, it was difficult for them to provide foolproof security to the event.

Subsequently, considering the circumstances PCB has taken the decision to relocate the tournament.
