Sports: Cricket: Sami propels IMI Omer Associates in final

Karachi: Pakistani pacer Mohammad Sami excelled with the bat and helped IMI Omer Associates record a 22-run victory against Royal Cricket Club and qualify for the final of 27th AKG Gymkhana Ground here Wednesday at Aga Khan Gymkhana Ground.

IMI Omer Associates batted first in the semifinal and put on board 172-9 in allotted 20 overs. Muhammad Sami played an impressive 69-run knock off only 45 balls. Ahsan Ali also batted well and scored 47 off 34 balls. Junaid Zia bowled well for Royal CC and captured a four-wicket haul for 25 runs.

Royal CC in reply scored 150-5 using the allotted quota of 20 overs. Umer Siddiqui top scored for the side with 31 off 18 balls. Anwar Ali and Zufiqar Babar took two wickets each for the victors in the match.
