Strict vigilance of hotels ordered

KARACHI:,,, Additional Inspector General of Police (AIGP) Karachi Ghulam Qadir Thebo on Monday ordered police officials in the wake of security red alert to ensure strict to vigilance on hotels, so that rooms should be booked after verification of National Identity Cards (NICs) of guests; otherwise, relevant Station House Officer (SHO) would made responsible.

Talking to media in his office, he said due to security concerns leaves of police officials have been cancelled. He instructed police to ensure extraordinary steps for security. He said that the zonal police response force has been established for better patrolling in the city.

AIGP said that recommendation has been sent to Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh for provision of five thousand additional cops equipped with modern weapons in this regard.

Thebo instructed SSPs, DSPs, and SHOs to monitor snap checking in different parts their limits and ensure proper security briefing of the deployed police officials.

He said that the security of sensitive installations including airports, railway stations, jails, Sindh secretariat, Sindh assembly building, hospitals, and media houses has already been enhanced.
