Suggestions sought for new police stations

KARACHI: Sindh Home Minster Sohail Anwar Siyal on Monday asked authorities to present recommendations regarding establishment of new police stations across the metropolis as soon as possible.

He gave approval of establishment of a New Sahil Police Station in South District while one other Women Police Station in Central District. He urged authorities concerned to fulfill all necessities relating to establishment of the new police stations.

He was presiding over a high-level meeting on reviewing law and order situation and capacity of Sindh police, at Central Police Office, Karachi.

At the meeting, DIG Headquarters Abdul Azeem Jafri, DIG RRF Aftab Pathan, DIG training Abdul Khaliq Sheikh, DIG Arif Hanif, DIG Establishment and AIGP were also present.

Sohail lauded the Sindh police’s role eliminating the terrorism from Karachi and other parts of Sindh. He said he will present recommendations to Sindh government to allocate sufficient funds in its upcoming budget 2016-17 for Sindh Police for their better training and incentives to offer to security personnel.

Sohail insisted police to further improve their intelligence gathering capacity in collaboration with other national intelligence institutions.

He directed that take strong action against criminals including gambling and drug dens, illegally sell of Iranian smuggled petrol, and growing street crime in the metropolis.

He urged officials to ensure law and order situation everywhere as public could live in peaceful environment.
