Three killed, 21 injured in road mishaps

KARACHI: Three people were killed and 21 others injured in separate road mishaps in the city on Friday.

Two unidentified people were killed and eight others injured when a motorcycle collided with a Suzuki pickup on National Highway near Gharo.

The identity of the victims could not be ascertained till filing the report. The injured were identified as Gulam Muhammad, 30; Usman Ali, 25; Waseem, 27; Younas, 18; Rehan, 24; Hajra, 24; Ayaz, 25; Ibraheem, 30; Sheharbano, 50; and Noman, 25.

The bodies and injured were shifted to Gharo Civil Hospital and later brought to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for autopsies and treatment respectively.

Separately, Sahil, 26, was killed when a vehicle hit him at Chamra Chowrangi in Korangi. The body were shifted to JPMC for an autopsy.

A woman, Pathani, 60, was injured in Nazimabad near 2-K bus stop when a motorcycle hit her. She was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for treatment.

Separately, 10 people were injured in a road accident on Super Highway near Dada Bhoy cement factory. The incident occurred when a speeding vehicle overturned.

The injured were identified Jameel, 25; Rozina, 30; Abida, 28; Mujahid, 9; Kalsoom, 16; Maula Bux, 25; Samina, 35; Faiza, 17; Gul Jabeen, 27; and Saima, 24. They were rushed to Baqai Medical Centre Hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, two brothers, Asim, 10 and Ali, 8, son of Younus, residents of Korangi, were injured when a vehicle hit them in Korangi-5 near Itwar Bazaar. The injured were rushed to JPMC for treatment.
