Three killed, five injured in road mishaps

KARACHI: Three persons were killed and five others were injured in road mishaps in the metropolis on Tuesday.

An unidentified person, aged about 50, was killed when a speeding vehicle hit him as he was crossing the road in Clifton. The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC) for an autopsy.

In another incident, a man, Nichal, 55, son of Pryem Chand, died and another Hero, 35, was injured when a fast moving vehicle hit them near sugarcane market at Superhighway. The body and injured were shifted to JPMC.

Yet in another incident, a man, Mohammad Ali, 45, son of Ali Muneer committed suicide near Aisha Bawani College in Brizatta Lane. The body was shifted JPMC for an autopsy.

Meanwhile, two youths, Waqar, 26, son of Ameen and other Ameen, 25, son of Aijaz, were injured when a vehicle hit them on the main Kashmir Road. Both were shifted to JPMC for treatment.

Separately, a man, Rafiq, 70, and Fareed, 28, son of Shafi Mohammad, were injured when a vehicle hit them near Sareena Mobile Market in Shadman No. 2. Both were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for treatment.
