Trader files petition against PTI Azadi March

Islamabad: The president of traders’ body has filed a petition in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan’s Azadi March in the federal capital on August 14. President of All Pakistan Anjuman Tajiran Ajmal Baloch stated in his petition that PTI’s protest should not cause harm to business activities and civic life in the city.

Therefore, PTI and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) supporters should be provided a space outside the vicinity of the federal capital.

In the petition, Imran Khan, PAT chairman Dr Tahirul Qadri, Interior Ministry and Islamabad district administration have been made party in the case. The petitioner’s lawyer Ikram Chaudhry pleaded the court to hear the case today, however, the registrar office referred the matter of constituting the bench to Chief Justice of IHC Anwar Kasi.
