Traffic police challans 423421 vehicles this year so far

KARACHI: At least 423,421 vehicles were challaned and 23,532 vehicles were detained by Karachi Traffic Police on the account of various traffic law violations in the metropolis from January 1, 2016 to date.

Karachi Traffic Police took action against traffic law violators in different areas of Karachi and had challaned different types of vehicles on the violation of traffic law including exceeding prescribed speed limit, violation of traffic signals, overloading by public transport vehicles, obstructing movement of emergency vehicles, like ambulances, fire brigades vehicles, driving on the wrong side of the road, jumping traffic queue and driving without licences.

As per a report issued by Karachi Traffic Police, as many as 22,182 buses, 17417 trucks, 424 dumpers, 2444 water tankers, 139 oil tankers, 4568 taxis, 28020 motor rickshaws and a large number of others vehicles were challaned during routine check.
