Transport fares decline amid oil rate decrease

LARKANA: Secretary, Regional Transport Authority, Larkana, has notified that in the wake of recent decrease in the prices of diesel and petrol and in pursuance of the Sindh government’s decision taken on 1st March 2016, the transport fares in the region have been revised downwards, with immediate effect.

According to the notification issued here on Wednesday, in the case of buses, minibuses and wagons, the fare for one kilometre has been reduced from 71 paisa to 67 paisa and in the case of vehicles using CNG, it will be 66 paisa per kilometre. Accordingly, new fare from Larkana to Dadu will be Rs 82 and from Larkana to Sukkur will be Rs 67.

According to the announcement, fares for the Inter City routes, A/C couches and AC Hiace Vans have also been reduced from the existing rate of 1.25 paisas per kilometre to 1.18 per kilometre. Accordingly, fares from Larkana to Karachi will be reduced from Rs 625 to Rs 590. Fares for Larkana to Hyderabad will be Rs 437 instead of Rs 462. The vehicles using CNG will charge Rs 66 paisa per kilometre.

The transporters have been directed to fix the revised fare list in their vehicles and ensure compliance to the government decision.
