Two alleged dacoits arrested by LEAs

KARACHI: Police on Saturday claimed that two dacoits who allegedly tried to loot a bank branch near Numaish Chowrangi area of the city were apprehended by law enforcing agencies with the help of CCTV footage and an alleged bandit was killed in an encounter.

The CCTV footage shows that four dacoits stormed into a bank branch and tried to take the staff hostage. The security guard of the bank resisted them due to which the robbers fled. Police said that two of the four robbers have been arrested with help of camera footage of the crime scene.

On the other hand, a bandit, Ishaq alias Shakoo, was killed in an encounter at New Karachi Industrial Area. Weapons and stolen goods, including mobile phones, were also recovered from the robber.

Meanwhile, at least dozen of suspects were captured by law enforcement agencies during search operations at Pehlwan Goth, Gulistan-e-Johar and Shah Faisal Colony areas of the city. They had been shifted to an unknown location for interrogation.
