Two cops killed in road mishap

Thatta: Two policemen died and three others injured in a road mishap near here Thursday. An armed personnel carrier (APC) of police overturned at Village Faqir Goth Road, some five kilometers from here. As a result, two cops Rais Jakhro and Ariz Mohammad died on the spot while three others Abbas Arain, Qurab and Hakeem sustained injuries. They were rushed to Civil Hospital Makli, where duty doctors were not present. The relatives of the injured ransacked the emergency center of Civil Hospital Makli as a token of protest.

Later, they rushed the injured to Karachi. Separately, a speedy car hit a donkey cart on Sujawal Road. As a result eight people including three children were injured, who were admitted to Civil Hospital Makli. The injured included Ameer Ali, Abbas, Konj, Rafiq, Shamim, Sofia and Afzal. The condition of Rafiq was termed critical.
