KARACHI: Two bandits were injured in a shootout with Manghopir police in the wee hours of Thursday in the metropolis.

Manghopir SHO Ghulam Hussain Korai said two dacoits Faisal, 25, and Rashid, 30, were going on a motorbike when police signalled them to stop, but they did not stop and instead opened fire on them.

In retaliatory firing by the police, the two bandits were injured, the SHO said. The injured were rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for treatment and later shifted to Manghopir police station.

Korai said they had recovered two pistols and some stolen goods from their possession. He said the detainees were professional criminals and had been arrested several times by different police stations in the city .
