Two killed, DSP injured in Karachi violence

KARACHI: Two people were killed and four others, including a DSP, injured in different firing incidents in the city on Thursday.

A man, Ali Raza, 35, son of Syed Ibrahim, was shot dead by unknown culprits near Goal Market in Liaquatabad’s FC area. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for medico-legal formalities.

Tariq, 25, son of Yaqoob, was shot dead and a minor boy, Daniyal, 6, son of Rasheed, was injured by unknown armed men in Liaquatabad FC area. The body and the injured were brought to ASH for a postmortem examination and treatment respectively.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Chaudhry Tariq Saeed was shot and injured by unidentified armed men in Quaidabad. He was rushed to a nearby private hospital for treatment.

Separately, Zakir Ali, aged 25, was shot and injured by unknown armed motorcyclists at Karimabad. He was shifted to ASH for treatment.

Meanwhile, Muhammad Asif, 40, son of Muladad, was injured by unidentified armed men at Bakra Pari in Malir. The injured was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate medical Centre for treatment.
