Two killed, five injured in Karachi violence

KARACHI: Two persons, including a newborn baby, were killed and five others injured in different violence incidents here on Tuesday.

According to rescue sources, a youth, identified as Ayaz, 22, son of Mehfooz Ali, a resident of New Karachi, was killed by robbers when he offered them resistance near Sindh Government Hospital in Liaquatabad. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for medico-legal formalities.

In another incident, a newborn baby, aged about one month, was killed in domestic dispute in Hassan Panhwar Goth, Bhens colony area. The baby was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for autopsy.

Yet in another incident, a man, Raza Ahmed, 42, son of Ali Ahmed, a resident of Malir, was shot and injured by armed men near Baloch Colony. He was brought to JPMC for treatment.

A youth, Sanaullah, 20, son of Sikandar Ali, a resident of Steel Town, was shot and injured by unidentified gunmen near FAST University in Shah Latif town. He was shifted to JPMC for treatment.

A man, Abbas, 34, son of Ghulam Fareed, was seriously injured in firing by robbers when he offered resistance to them in New Sabzi Mandi area. The injured was shifted to ASH for treatment.

A teenager, Shabir, 15, son of Sher Mohammad Brohi, was injured in firing by robbers when he offered resistance to robbers near Burhani Building in Chakiwara area. He was brought to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for treatment.

In another incident, a man, identified as Jahanzaib, 30, son of Mohammad Nawaz, was injured in a stray bullet. He was shifted to JPMC for treatment.
