Two murderers get death sentenceMarch 18, 2016
KARACHI: A Sessions Court on Saturday sentenced two men to death for murdering two persons in 2002.
An Additional District & Sessions Judge West found Taj Mohammad and Abdul Baseer guilty of killing Hafiz Nisar Ali and Raheemullah within the jurisdiction of Peerabad police station.
The judge pronounced the verdict after recording witnesses’ statements, evidences and arguments from both sides. The court observed that charges against the accused proved without any shadow of doubt.
According to the prosecution, the convicts, along with their absconding accomplice Shafiq had killed Hafiz Nisar Ali and Raheemullah , over minor dispute on 17th January 2002 in Frontier Colony.
The court also ordered the convicts to pay Rs 100,000 compensation to each of the deceased’s family. The convicts will have to undergo an additional six-month imprisonment if they fail to pay the compensation amount.
Before the verdict was pronounced, the convicts were on the bails who are now shifted to Jail after the arrest. The murder case was registered at Peerabad police station on the complaint of Deendar Ali Advocate.
